Jibril Baba

Biography & My many dimensions

My work fuses art with technology to create resilient systems

hey there,

I’m Jibril. I’m a Lagos-based artist working at the intersection of arts, science, and technology. My diverse works span across building interactive technologies, paintings, architecture, and immersive installations.

I am currently working on a prototype which uses sensor technology to regulate the condition of yams in storage, optimizing them for consumption, reducing spoilage.

It is the first principles from what will become a deep cultural exploration into the future of food in Nigeria & Africa. How merging Artificial intelligence with traditional storage practices can transform them into more resilient systems for the future. My most recent painting is titled “the willow tree”. it is a series of 7 paintings on unstretched canvas & a palette of raw umber. the images on the canvases invites viewers to step into a spirit dimension to see a new future of food in Africa.

I spend my free time reading and dreaming new African realities.
